DenimLounge (1,186 square feet) is a jeans boutique that caters to women and men, from teens to mid-40s. It will carry mid-priced and premium denim, T-shirts and accessories by brands including Lucky, Monarchy, James Jeans, Denim of Virtue, Retrosport, PeaceLoveMom and New Classic. It will open later this year.
Mud Pie Monograms and Gifts (1,726 square feet) will offer personalized gifts, including monogrammed bath towels, handbags, engraved sterling silver jewelry, market baskets, painted canvas wall art for children, and custom imprinted napkins for special occasions.
“We're looking forward to becoming a part of the Blakeney community and providing a unique product and service,” said Mud Pie owner Risa DeShields.
“This area has truly experienced exceptional growth over the past couple of years, and we are proud to join this remarkable retail community.”
Mud Pie was formerly located at the nearby Fountains shopping center.
Crosland also is developing Blakeney Crossing, 87,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space across Rea Road from the first Blakeney shopping center.
“Based on strong market demand from retailers and the success of Blakeney to date, we are excited about starting another retail project in the Blakeney multi-use development,” said Ryan Preston, director of leasing for Crosland.
Best Buy and PetSmart will be anchor tenants.
Smaller shops will include Just Fresh, Winestore, Asian Fusion, Salsarita's Fresh Cantina and Omaha Steaks.
Best Buy will open late this year; no opening dates have been announced for the other tenants.
Village at Robinson Farm
Cosmos Café will open a second location at the Village at Robinson Farm, a mixed-use center under construction at Rea Road and Williams Pond Lane.
The original location is on North College Street in uptown Charlotte. Details: www.cosmoscafe.com.
No retail or office tenants have been announced for the new 44,000-square-foot center that is expected to be finished in September.
Developer Lat Purser has said they're avoiding big chains in favor of locally owned businesses, which could include a spa, hair and nail salons, home furnishings, an alteration shop with dry cleaning, an optical office, and wireless phone providers. Clothing and shoe boutiques could also come in.
