INDIAN TRAIL Quietly, beer and wine is now being served in at least one Indian Trail restaurant, after voters in a contentious referendum approved sales in May.
Jim Kourakos, who operates Rossini's on U.S. 74, has the town's first license to serve beer and wine.
He sees a big increase in sales coming in.
"It improves the business and quality of the restaurant," he said.
Sixty-five percent of Indian Trail voters approved beer and wine sales in restaurants and hotels. Six other establishments are waiting for permits.
