The Mallard Creek High band hosts a garage sale 7-11 a.m. Sept. 20 at the school. Sellers must reserve a spot by Sept. 15 for $10 each and may keep profits from their sales. Kevin Paige is the new executive director for CMS' Central Learning Community. Paige has served as the principal of Torrence Creek, Sterling and Morehead elementary schools. He has been with CMS since 1979.
Sarika Pride is the new principal at Hidden Valley Elementary. She has served as principal at Huffman Elementary (Plano, Texas) and Elm Creative Arts School (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Naadira Billinsley was selected as one of 16 students in N.C. to attend the Students Hot On The Sciences program, June 15-July 25 in Greensboro. Billinsley is a senior at Mallard Creek High.
Nancy Langenfeld was selected as the featured speaker at training for the Youth Risk Behavior Survey, held last Monday-Wednesday in Rockville, Md. Langenfeld is CMS' director of coordinated school health services.
Tyler Williams earned a Leadership Scholarship to American University. Tyler is a recent graduate of Providence Day School.
