Tega Cay Lions Club
The Tega Cay Lions Club recently presented past President Peggy Upchurch a plaque in honor of her service to the club.
Upchurch was first vice president in 2006-07 and became president for the 2007-08 year. Under her leadership, the club increased its membership and continued with the Carolina Motor Madness car show to raise money for the Lions' scholarship fund. The club also participated in the Tega Cay Fall Festival, Polar Bear Plunge, Easter Egg Hunt, Senior Citizens Holiday Party, New Horizons Pool Party and hosted exchange students from around the world. The “Pack the Backpack” campaign to collect school supplies for the Fort Mill Care Center was started under her leadership.
Upchurch will lend her expertise to President Jerry Church and continue to serve on committees.
