S.C. Governor Mark Sanford plans to visit the Catawba River in Rock Hill on Wednesday to sign a bill declaring a 30-mile stretch of the Catawba as part of the state's Scenic Rivers program.
The section of the river is from the Lake Wylie Dam to the S.C. 9 Bridge, just west of Lancaster. It is one of the last free-flowing sections of the Catawba and is home to the Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies. A brief ceremony will be held at River Park, at 1782 Quality Circle in Rock Hill at 1:30 p.m.
