Sad news, plant lovers. The Herb Barn is closed.
Just four months after deciding to take a summer hiatus, owner Cathi Sanford has announced that the end has come.
She told her loyal customers in an e-mail, “This was not an easy decision, believe me. I want to thank all of you for your support of The Herb Barn, and for helping me pursue my dream. It was an educational experience for all of us, and I hope it was for you as well. Herbs continue to be something I enjoy, and I will always have my own herb garden. Now I will be able to tend to it a bit more.”
Sanford plans to work with a grower over the winter, concentrating on harder-to-find herbs in addition to more common ones, and then selling to local garden centers.
There will be a final sale of the products that are left, plus tables, canopies, displays, etc. Details will be announced in October. Sanford also says she'll be selling the greenhouse, something many of us gardeners would love to have.
If you'd like information on the upcoming sale, contact Sanford at theherb email@example.com.
