Eateries ready for holidays

Area restaurants are gearing up special offerings in connection with the coming holidays: Victorian tea, wine tasting, candy making and hearty winter fare.

MATTHEWS

Amber Crest Winery hosts Noel Night: A Holiday Wine Tasting and Gift Shopping event Dec. 5, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Guests will be able to sample eight wines, eat delicious foods and buy gifts, holiday cards and custom framed art. Admission is a $20 per ticket donation to the U.S. Equine Rescue League, which rescues abused, neglected and/or abandoned horses. PINEVILLE

Sinfully Sweet Cakes, Etc. offers a candy-making class Nov. 18-19. Bakers will teach students to make Christmas bark, truffles, buckeyes, peppermint patties, etc. Supplies are included in a two-night class fee of $75 and you can take home candies you make. ROCK HILL

The Woman's Club of Rock Hill hosts a Victorian Tea Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. at the historic Armstrong-Mauldin House at 607 Aiken Ave. Cost is $20 per person, seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Call 803-328-8888. The house will be decorated for the holidays with carolers and servers in Victorian dress. BALLANTYNE

Wolfgang Puck Carolina Bistro offers its new fall seasonal specials: clam chowder, chopped salad with roasted butternut squash and Fuji apples, rotisserie barbecue chicken salad, open-faced shrimp and bacon club, and wild mushroom and caramelized sweet pearl onion pizza.
