Park Road

Bake sale: Cookies for Kids' Cancer will have a bake sale 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Blackhawk Hardware in Park Road Shopping Center. Local bakeries, candy shops and volunteers will be donating cookies, cakes, pies, gift cards and merchandise for raffle. They hope to raise $50,000. Bank of America and Glad Products Corporation will double the money raised. All proceeds fund research and new treatments. Providence Road

Service project: Charlotte Latin School's All-School Thanksgiving Service Project raised $4,056 and more than 6,450 canned food items for Loaves & Fishes. To get support, they had a dress-your-adviser faculty fashion show, bake sale, hunger simulation, and more. Eighth-graders sold cookbooks they wrote for English class.

Holiday festival: Enjoy children's crafts, entertainment and a 100 percent chance of early evening snow from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 4 in front of Town Hall at the Village Green.
