Carmel Road

Lecture series: Charlotte Country Day School will host the "Great Decisions" lecture series, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays in Cramer Lecture Hall, 1440 Carmel Road. Funds for troops: South Meck High School's Navy JROTC cadets gave more than $500 to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which provides support to injured service members, their families and caregivers. Cadet Jacob Munn presented the check to Yellow Ribbon Fund staff on Christmas Day at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Blood donors needed: Carolinas Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross is more than 2,000 units of blood short and is in need of donors.
