Restaurant news: Several chefs serving up summer specials

Extreme Pita

Looking for a fresh, healthy alternative while shopping at Ballantyne Village? Extreme Pita has rolled out its newest menu and is offering a half-price day June 18. Check out the Falafel, Buffalo Chicken, Market Fresh Veggie and Gyro Pitas, to name a few.

Dinner for two for $79 through Sept. 5. Diners can choose from starters like grilled asparagus bisque or summer mixed greens, an entrée including filet mignon or roasted chicken, a side item and dessert. A red and white wine selection is also featured and is available by the bottle (red for $45, white for $30). Live music throughout the summer in the bar.

Menchie's grand opening weekend

Stop in June 10-12 to celebrate Menchie's grand opening. On June 10 the store is partnering with The Adam Faulk Tanksley Foundation and Levine Children's Hospital in a fundraising effort; Saturday KISS (95.1 FM) will be there from 2-4 p.m. Face painting, games, giveaways and pictures with Menchie himself, and plenty of frozen yogurt.
