Shepherd's Center

Seminar: Shepherd's Center South will hold a "Getting Around" seminar 10 a.m. June 13 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in the Parrish Center's Family Room, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway.

The free program is for all retirees and empty-nesters. Guest speakers will join a panel to share details and answer questions concerning public and private transportation within Mecklenburg County. Send email to michelle.hitselberger@gmail.com or call 704-989-3617.

Golf tournament: The Shepherd's Center East will hold a golf tournament fundraiser 8:30 a.m. Aug. 30 at Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation, 7504 Olde Sycamore Drive, Mint Hill.

The tournament will be Captains Choice Format with an entry deadline of Aug. 9. Cost is $100 per person and includes box lunch, contests, team and individual prizes. To register, call the SCE office at 704-338-1511.

Tega Cay: Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates will hold its second annual charity golf tournament 10 a.m. June 18 at Tega Cay Golf Club, 15083 Molokai Drive, Tega Cay, S.C.

Proceeds will benefit Camp CARE, an organization committed to providing a true summer camp experience for children with cancer. The camp is staffed by volunteers and funded entirely by donations. CEENTA's goal is to raise $15,000 to send 40 kids to camp. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:15 a.m. Format is Captain's Choice with a cost of $125 per player which includes 18 holes, breakfast, lunch, goody bags and awards.
