The Roasting Company
Doug Bell's The Roasting Company is celebrating 20 years with a weeklong celebration. Through June 25, the restaurant is giving 20 percent of dinner revenue to local nonprofit The Harvest Center. The Harvest Center provides hot meals, groceries, education and more to disadvantaged neighbors and those who have suffered economic setbacks. On June 22, The Roasting Company will host an anniversary party from 5:30-7 p.m. The restaurant is known for its rotisserie chicken and fresh vegetables.

Mez is offering cooking classes this summer. On June 25 from noon-2 p.m., Chef Anoosh Shariat will share recipes for cold soups and grilling marinades, as well as give tips for planning a fun cookout with family and friends. Wild Horse Winery and Vineyards from Templeton, Calif., will be hosting a wine dinner 6:30 p.m. June 24. Wild Horse wines will accompany each of the four courses. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, dedicated to protecting the herd of Spanish mustangs that roam the Outer Banks.

Frank Scibelli and Dennis Thompson have opened their newest venture, a barbecue spot in Plaza Midwood. The menu focuses on whole-hog, all-wood-smoked barbecue. South Carolina Mustard Sauce, Eastern North Carolina Vinegar Sauce and Midwood Signature Sauce are offered with the barbecue, which is made fresh daily.
Sandwiches including Barbecue Pork, Stan's Fried Bologna Sandwich and Sloppy Joe with hopped beef brisket are also on the menu. Eighteen beers are on tap with 30 more craft, local and import brews and a full bar.

Mellow Mushroom and Terrace Café
Coming soon to Ballantyne Village are two new tenants: Mellow Mushroom and Terrace Café. Mellow Mushroom is an Atlanta-based chain that specializes in stone-baked pizzas to order in an art-filled environment. Terrace Café will be the second location of the popular SouthPark restaurant. Both are expected to open later this year.
