Student dollects items

Disaster relief: Through the IB Program at Marvin Ridge High School in Waxhaw, students have to complete 150 service hours. Madison Martin, a rising junior, is getting a head start. A few weeks ago while watching the news she knew what her project would be: collecting items for the homeless people and pets whose homes were consumed by fire in Arizona. She also decided to donate items to those who were affected by the tornadoes that ravaged the southeast.

Madison is asking for donations of items like toiletries, toys, books, pet food, leashes, clothes, blankets and any other items that could be of use to those who lost their homes in these natural disasters.

If you would like to donate, contact Martin at 704-84302939 or email martinusaf14@aol.com.
