The South Charlotte Panthers have played well all summer and seem to get better each time they take the field.
In fact, since they came into existence 14 years ago, the Panthers have been traveling extensively around the Southeast, taking on some of the best competition they can find.
This year the Under-16 team is 22-7-1 and finished third with a 7-3 record in the USA Baseball National Championships in June.
The Panthers built on that strong showing and have gone 7-1-1 since the USA National Tournament.

They recently put it all together and captured the USA Baseball 16U Cup, burying their opponents behind solid pitching and clutch hitting.
The team earned the number one seed in the Cary tournament and backed it up as they made quick work of opponents, outscoring them by a combined 42-9 over five games.
The Panthers pitchers gave up just 17 hits over the five games and recorded three shutouts.
The Panthers have three big tournaments left this summer. The Dynamic World Series will be July 28-31 in Greenville, N.C., the Canes Challenge is Aug. 4 in Chapel Hill and the Dynamic Championship is Aug. 5-7 in Columbia.
If the Panthers can pitch like they did at the USA Baseball Cup and continue to get hits when they need them most, they should be in contention to win each game.
