Global Theatre Series: The Children's Theatre of Charlotte will partner with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library to bring multicultural stories through a two-week Global Theatre Series Tour of free family performances.

From July 25-Aug. 5, the Theatre's Resident Touring Company, the Tarradiddle Players, will visit all library branches to perform stories from "Brother Rabbit Spinning Free."

Service awards: The Arc of Mecklenburg County recently recognized individuals and organizations for their service .

This year's award winners include: Kathy and Phil Armstrong and their Circle of Friends Group, Distinguished Service Award; Chris McCall, Aktion Club Member of the Year; John Dainotto, Kiwanis Member of the Year; Duke Energy, Business Partner of the Year Sponsored by Duke Energy; Alice Bostic, Advocate of the Year; Jocie Cremisi, Parent of the Year; Kathleen Montini of Myers Park High, Teacher of the Year Award Sponsored by Wells Fargo.

SilverSneakers Fitness: The Levine Senior Center, 1050 Devore Lane, Matthews, is now a partner in the SilverSneakers Fitness Program, an exercise and fitness program offered as a benefit to members of many Medicare plans.
