New South Kitchen and Bar is offering three courses and a glass of wine for $25 per person through Sept. 30. Selections from the promotional menu include: fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs with country ham cracklings, shrimp and grits, slow roasted meatloaf with buttermilk smashed potatoes and more. A choice of dessert is also included.

LaVecchia's

Newly located within the Hearst Tower uptown, LaVecchia's is also serving three courses for $30 through the end of September. Starters include choice of a Hearst Salad with local field greens, dried cranberries, blue cheese, pecans and grape tomatoes with sherry vinaigrette or a Caesar salad. Entrées on the menu: Atlantic salmon with citrus risotto and asparagus, almond crusted tilapia with lump crab, Louisiana shrimp and grits with chorizo and a New York strip with melted blue cheese. Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake or chocolate caramel fudge pecan cake are the dessert offerings. Reservations are recommended.

For $5 diners can choose from five different burgers on five days (Monday through Friday) at the bar during the month of September. Burgers to choose from: black and bleu, encore, bistro, original and the barbecue, bacon and cheddar; all come with a choice of side. Three new entrees have been added to Encore's dinner menu: cashew-crusted chicken with parmesan risotto and seasonal vegetables; rigatoni Marsala with sautéed chicken, spinach, roasted red pepper and prosciutto; and Encore meatloaf, a blend of beef and Andouille sausage served with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach.

Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge

The Ballantyne Hotel and Lodge will celebrate its 10th anniversary Sept. 5. The hotel will offer a four-course menu and a signature cocktail at its Gallery Restaurant throughout September. The menu is $40 per person and includes: shrimp and grits, a baby iceberg wedge, a Gallery filet or horseradish crusted hake filet and strawberry mascarpone Napoleon for dessert. The Perfect 10 celebratory cocktail will be available at Gallery Restaurant bar. Ingredients include Tanqueray 10, St. Germain liqueur, homemade juniper infused syrup and pear nectar for $10.
