"Slavery in the South": The Matthews Historical Foundation will present "Slavery in the South" on Sept. 27 at the Massey-Clark House, 232 North Trade St. The program, by public historian and historic interpreter Nicole Moore, will explore experiences from working conditions to family life. Author Michael Scoggins, historian and director of the Southern Revolutionary War Institute, will also attend. Southern Gourmet will cater a reception starting 6:30 pm. Free, open to the public.
