Thanksgiving Food Drive:

Urban Active is partnering with Charlotte's Second Harvest of Metrolina in an effort to help feed the less fortunate this Thanksgiving. Residents who donate five nonperishable food items through Nov. 23 will help feed an under-privileged family and receive either a 14 Day Free Work-Out Pass (for non-members) or a Free Personal Training Session (for members) as a thank you. 7 a.m. Nov. 23. Puppies for Patients:

Join Community Blood Center of the Carolinas this holiday season for the seventh annual Puppies for Patients program, which runs through Dec. 31. Donate blood in November and December and sign a tag that will then be attached to a stuffed puppy and delivered to children in area hospitals. Visit for a list of blood drives near you. Esteban Vicente: A Survey of Paintings and Collages:

Free Caregiving Help During The Holidays:

To help caregivers during the holidays, The Ivey adult day care center near SouthPark is offering a free four-hour visit from Nov.28-Dec. 29 for any senior with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or other chronic condition.
