Material wishes: Used cars that are safe and drivable, pots and pans, silverware, copy paper, Kleenex, funding for medical expenses and counseling services.

Matthews NC 28015 Program: Skills based non-profit school with strong academics which serves the needs of student's with Asperser's Syndrome and children with similar social and communication challenges. Grades 3-8 (ages 8-14). We also offer summer camps to help students make friends, enjoy socializing in a group setting. Material wishes: Donations for need-based scholarships for school and camp, IT and Technology equipment and support for classrooms, sensory-based and OT equipment to support student needs, PE instructor funding (fencing, yoga, golf, group problem solving via indoor and outdoor challenges), music instruction and resources, theatre instruction and resources, film and photography instruction and resources, high interest novels (fiction and non-fiction) for student library, raised vegetable garden supplies. Volunteer needs: PE instructor, music instruction, theatre instruction, film and photography instruction, chess instruction, math tutor, art instructor, guest speakers with subject matter expertise in: science, history, archeology, dinosaurs, animation, astronomy, video game development, poetry, the fine arts, graphic design, film, photography. Matthews NC 28105 Program: The Peace and Justice Clinic is a faith-based ministry of the United Methodist Church providing welcome, hospitality and compassion along with free immigration legal services. Material wishes: The Peace and Justice Clinic needs cash or in-kind donations of office supplies as well as volunteers. Volunteer needs: All volunteers will need to be trained before volunteering. Their primary job will be hospitality, and other jobs will be interpreting, child care, interviewing, copying documents, organizing the office, and pastoral care. Matthews NC 28105 Program: The Matthews Free Medical Clinic provides free health care to the low-income, uninsured of Mecklenburg and Union Counties. The Clinic provides well patient care, treatment of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, a women's clinic, a psychiatry clinic, and a dental outreach program. Material wishes: Financial donations, office supplies (especially copy paper and postage stamps), bus tokens, gift cards (gas, groceries, etc.), Prodigy blood glucose test strips. Matthews NC 28105 Program: Bright Blessings is a 501c3 nonprofit organization serving homeless children and families across the greater Charlotte region. Our two programs, Bless-A-Birthday and Bless-A-Baby, bring joy, cultivate self worth, and provide support to children and families in need. Material wishes: All items must be new. Unwrapped gifts for children of all ages; baby care supplies; baby blankets and clothing; toiletries and care-essentials for children; blankets; backpacks; wrapping supplies; financial contributions. Matthews NC 28105 Program: Making It a Better Place is a grass roots effort made up of all volunteers. We promote the importance of the family unit. Showcasing that fun, fitness and volunteerism is essential for a strong family unity. One eventful day starts with a Family Fun Festival moving into our Gala Ball ending the evening. All proceeds go to other local charities. Material wishes: Until details on the charities we will showcase for next year, cash donations are the best to help aide in next years big event. Our Family Fun Festival is free to families so your donations will help keep it that way. Volunteer needs: Lots of opportunity to volunteer with us as we are completely run on volunteers. Program: Noah's Team of Charlotte is a local volunteer program supporting Canine Assistants, a non-profit provider of service dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities, seizure disorders and other special needs. Material wishes: We receive no government funding, relying on the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations. Recipients are only asked to perform community service in lieu of payment. Volunteer needs: Volunteers are needed to help with fundraisers and educational and civic presentations. Between Thanksgiving and through the holiday season, gift-wrapping volunteers are needed for Belk in South Park. Minimum volunteer time: Gift wrappers are welcome for three hour shifts. Matthews NC 28106 Program: Habitat for Humanity of Matthews seeks to provide safe, affordable homes for qualifying families. Material wishes: We accept monetary donations and our Habitat Matthews ReStore accepts donations of household items such as furniture, books, building materials, lighting, cabinetry, shelving, and appliances. Volunteer needs: Habitat Matthews seeks volunteers to participate in home-building and landscape projects, to work at the ReStore, serve on committees, and teach homeowner education classes.
