Charlotte Christian

Shoebox Collection: Charlotte Christian School recently collected 1,000 shoeboxes to send to Samaritan's Purse. Any additional boxes may be placed in the Middle School Atrium.

Charlotte Latin

Lego Award: Charlotte Latin's Lego Robotics team, Latin Hawks II, led by Tom Dubick, won second place overall and the robot performance award at the Nov. 5 First Lego League regional competition. Competing teams from across the area used Lego Mindstorms kits to build and program autonomous robots to navigate a set of tasks on the playing field.

Myers Park

Parent Volunteers Needed: Parent volunteers are needed for the Senior Exit Project Review Boards. Parents of seniors are not allowed to participate. The next Review Board is Dec. 8 from 7:30-10:45 a.m. or 11-2:15 a.m. Volunteers may sign up for one or both slots. Visit www.signupgenius.com to sign up.

South Mecklenburg

Grant Allows Further Learning: Five CMS teachers received a $250 grant from the City of Charlotte Education Enhancement Program based on the teacher's ability to connect with students and enhance education experiences. Melissa Hefner of South Mecklenburg High School received one of the grants to help students better understand Shakespeare and his plays.
