Restaurant news: January is a good month to eat out

Queen's Feast

Charlotte Restaurant Week, otherwise known as Queen's Feast, is slated for Jan. 20-29. This winter's feast includes a record 101 participating restaurants, which can be viewed online at www.charloth mterestaurant week.com. Patrons can enjoy a three-course (or more) meal for $30 at their choice of eatery.

Restaurants participating in the promotion cover the Charlotte metro area from Lake Norman to Fort Mill. First time participants this year include Fern, Waldhorn, Yama Asian Fusion and Jeffrey's Restaurant.

K & W Cafeterias

K&W Cafeterias, Inc. is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1937, and continues to be family run by the founder's descendants. K&W locations are celebrating their anniversary with a year-long promotion featuring monthly specials. The specials will be offered on Wednesdays and cost 75 cents.

Jet's Pizza

Jet's Pizza is now open for business in Charlotte in the Cochran Commons shopping plaza on Mallard Creek Church Road. Jet's, a Michigan-based chain, is known for its square, deep dish pizza, subs, salads and wings. Jet's is celebrating its grand opening by giving away free slices of deep dish pizza (one per person), from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Jan. 14 at the new location. More Jet's locations are planned for the area for early 2012.
