American Red Cross

Foundation Financial Group: A team of employees from Foundation Financial Group's Charlotte regional center participated in a volunteer event that benefitted the American Red Cross recently. During the "Holiday Stocking Event," employees sewed and stuffed stockings for donation to the Red Cross. They also made monetary donations to the Red Cross.

Relay for Life

Kickoff party: The American Cancer Society will hold its inaugural Relay for Life event in Ballantyne May 25.

The event aims to bring people together from all walks of life and further the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives. At the event, individuals and teams camp out with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening.

There will be a kickoff party 6-7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Morrison Family YMCA to give the community more information about the event and how to get involved. RSVP to Ballantyne.relay@gmail.com. Learn more at relayforlife.org/ballantyne.

CBCC

Pint for Pounds: The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is kicking off 2012 with its fourth annual Pint for Pounds campaign to support Second Harvest Food Bank.

CBCC will donate six pounds of food for every blood donation now through Feb. 29. In the last three years, this campaign has raised over 130,000 pounds of food to help feed the hungry in the Charlotte community. To learn more, visit www.cbcc.us or call 704-972-4700.

Community Blood Drive: CBCC is teaming up with The Helping Hands of Baxter Village to host a community blood drive in honor of two young residents who are undergoing treatment for cancer. 24 Hours of Booty

24 Minutes for 24 Hours: TotalCyclist at 10703 Park Road, Suite 1, is inviting the public to participate in a 24 minute indoor time trail Feb. 4 to benefit 24 Hours of Booty.
