Shepherd's Center East
Valentine Tea: Shepherd's Center East will host an authentic English Tea 3:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Fireside Room at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 6800 Sardis Road. The tea will be complete with fine china, English fare, floral decorations and violin music by Verd Anna Cunningham of Raleigh. Pint for Pounds: The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is kicking off 2012 with its fourth annual Pint for Pounds campaign to support Second Harvest Food Bank. With a donation of $10, you will receive a 10 percent discount on purchases; $15 will offer a 15 percent discount; $20, a 20 percent discount; and $25, a 25 percent discount. Northwest School of the Arts' Theatre Guild
Masquerade ball: Northwest School of the Arts' Theatre Arts Guild will hold a Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball 7 p.m.-midnight Feb. 18 at Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, 2424 North Davidson St. The event is open to the public and will feature a costume contest, silent auction and food. Armed Forces Museum
Donations needed: The Armed Forces Museum & Archives of the Carolinas currently is seeking donations to fund the museum, which is scheduled to break ground in 2013. The museum will honor the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. A tax-deductible minimum donation of $25 will purchase a founding membership to the museum. Each founding member will receive an enamel pin. The museum's paver program allows patrons to purchase engraved granite pavers that will honor a loved one with a permanent placement on the museum walkway. Details: www. Registration open for trail run: Registration is now open for the 2012 N.C. Outward Bound School's River Bound Race Series.
