Oakland Baptist Church has received the gift of music. A member of the church, who passed away recently, donated money for the purchase of Carillon bells.
The bells have been installed in Oakland's steeple. The system of bells has the ability to play more than 500 hymns, 16 bell peals, 14 segments of swinging bells and 9 bell tolls.
The bells are currently programmed to ring at 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and hymns will play at various times of the day.
