No coalition meeting: The NorthEast Coalition will not meet this month because the group planned to attend the annual Neighborhood Symposium on Saturday.

The meetings will resume May 21. In May, the group will host Mayor Anthony Foxx and City Manager Curt Walton.

Vance High

School grant: The Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation has awarded Vance High School a $45,000 grant to help support the school's Project Lead The Way initiative, a program that supports science, technology, engineering and math education. Vance is one of four CMS high schools that has an Academy of Engineering program serving a total of 310 students.

Plant sale: The Botanical Gardens will hold its annual spring plant sale on Saturday and Sunday at the gardens, 9090 Craver Road.
