Hall of Fame: Judy Rose, director of athletics at UNC Charlotte, has been inducted into the Women's History Hall of Fame for attracting national sporting events to Charlotte and for service to several athletic boards, including the N.C. High School Athletics Association Foundation. Also chosen for the Women's History Hall of Fame Class of 2011 were Jennifer Roberts, Mecklenburg County commissioner; Molly Barker, founder of Girls on the Run; ophthalmologist Buhilda McGriff; community leader Mary Gill; Delores Johnson Hurt, the first African-American accepted to Winthrop University; and entrepreneur Ellen Floyd Johnson.
