Mallard Creek

Special recognition: Sara Wilcox, Mallard Creek High School student, earned special recognition as a top-10 winner in the Sports & Entertainment Marketing event at DECA's 65th International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla.

Four additional Mallard Creek students were recognized as overall finalists in their events.

They were: Trevor Cockerham and Kelsey Manning, Marketing Communications Team; Allison Gartland, Principles of Marketing; Will Henriques, International Business Plan.

Business programs: Prospective business graduate students are invited to learn more about the MBA, master's of accountancy and other programs offered at Belk College of Business from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at UNC Charlotte's Main Campus. There is no fee, but reservations are required.

Nona's expands: Nona's Sweets Bakery Café, 9331 J.W. Clay Boulevard, is launching Papa's Eats at Nona's Sweets. Papa's Eats is a sit-down or take-out section of Nona's Sweets Bakery Café, serving breakfast from 7-11 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
