Nature program: Educators and others can register now for "The Wonders of Wetlands," a program that provides more than 50 hands-on activities in lesson-plan format, information on wetlands, ideas for student projects and a wetlands resource guide.
The program will be 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. at Reedy Creek Nature Center, 2900 Rocky River Road.

Aquatics: The University City YMCA is taking registration for its winter swim lesson program and 2012 swim team. Lessons are offered evenings and Saturday mornings for all ages, 6 months to adult. Community of change: The Levine Museum of the New South's "Courage" exhibit on the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark 1954 decision in Brown v. Board of Education has inspired a day of events at UNC Charlotte.
New Courage Day will be Wednesday in the Student Union, 9201 University City Blvd. Panel discussions, art exhibits and dramatic and musical performances will examine how courage is exhibited in present-day education.
