Fine Art and Craft Showcase:

The Charlotte Fine Art Show is a juried fine art and crafts event with about 125 artists selling paintings, sculpture, clay, glass, fiber, wood, jewelry, photography and more. 10 a.m. Admission is $8; a three day pass is $12. Mummies of the World:

Discover Place hosts the largest exhibition of mummies and related artifacts ever assembled. The exhibit includes ancient mummies and important artifacts from Asia, Oceania, South America, Europe, as well as ancient Egypt, dating as far back as 6,500 years. Jacob's Ladder USB Flash Drive Campaign:

Jacob's Ladder Job Center, Inc. is holding a "USB-Drive" campaign for students in a month-long job-readiness program. Through Dec. 19, Jacob's Ladder is collecting donated new and unused USB flash drives (minimum of 256MB) at both locations, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
