Art of negotiation: Business negotiation will be the topic of discussion at the Ben Craig Center's next Venture Knowledge luncheon series for entrepreneurs.

The event will begin at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 2 at the center, 8701 Mallard Creek Road, Suite 100. The program will start at noon. Register by Feb. 1 by contacting Carolyn Smith, csmith@bencraigcenter.com or 704-548-9113. Lunch is available for $5 (cash only).

Volunteers and service: The Derita Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Texas Ranch Steakhouse, 1310 W. Sugar Creek Road.

Art and Culture: Get tickets now for a chamber music festival titled "The Catalyst Quartet." The event will start at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Belk Theater in Robinson Hall, 9201 University City Blvd.

The festival will focus on works by Ravel, Beethoven, Webern and Ginastera. Tickets are $9 or $7 for senior adults and UNCC staff members. Contact the box office at boxoffice@uncc.edu.

Advanced degree programs: Learn about the application and admission processes for the university's doctoral, master's and certificate programs during an information session 4-5 p.m. Wednesday in room 228 of Cato Hall, 9201 University City Blvd.
