Eat pizza on Monday to help cure cancer

On Monday, all area Brooklyn Pizza locations will raise money to help cure cancer.

That day, 10 percent of profits at those restaurants will benefit the Mark Daidone Cancer Research Endowment at the new Levine Cancer Institute.

A resident of Cornelius for more than 20 years and an avid fisherman, Mark died of pancreatic cancer last June. He was my husband.

Every year, Mark's endowment will be awarded for research into the management of the early stages of cancer.

So treat yourself to Italian food at Brooklyn South Pizzeria in Cornelius, Brooklyn Boys Pizzeria in Mooresville, Brooklyn Bros. Pizzeria in Denver, Brooklyn Pizza Parlor on Colony Road in Charlotte, Brooklyn Pizza Parlor on Weddington-Monroe Road in Wesley Chapel, or the Brooklyn Pizza Parlor in Indian Trail. You'll be eating well and helping a great cause. For information, email me at ldaidone@hotmail.com.
