UNCC gardens all dressed up for spring

Nature puts on a spectacular show this time of year at UNC Charlotte’s Botanical Gardens.

Blooms, buds and lush, green foliage all are elements of the 10-acre landscape.

The 7-acre Van Landingham Glen is a woodland garden that puts a focus on native plants of the Carolinas. It is also has one of the most diverse rhododendron gardens in the Southeast.

The 3-acre Susie Harwood Garden has handsome views, colorful plantings and inspiration for home gardeners.

Visitors are likely to find interest in the Harwood garden’s hardy ornamental landscape plants. The garden also has meandering paths, a pond with waterfalls, an Asian Garden and naturalistic designs using rocks throughout.

The gardens are open seven days a week during daylight hours.
