Police seek credit union robber

Federal authorities and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have released two surveillance photos, in an effort to catch the man they said robbed a credit union Thursday in northeast Charlotte.

The robbery happened about 11:50 a.m. at the Truliant Federal Credit Union, in the 1900 block of Back Creek Drive. That is off East W.T. Harris Boulevard, near the Newell community. A man wearing a hood entered the credit union and robbed a teller.

The FBI released a surveillance photo of the suspect Thursday, but now they have added a photo of the car thought to have been used as a getaway vehicle.

The suspect is a black male, about 5 feet 9 to 5-10, weighing about 180 pounds. He is in his late 20s, has a light complexion and thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket and clear sunglasses. Investigators think the vehicle might have been a blue Hyundai Sonata, possibly a 2005 model.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the FBI office in Charlotte, 704-672-6100, or Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
