Man killed at Charlotte bar Saturday night, bringing homicide total to 47

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating Charlotte’s 47th homicide after a man was shot inside a Tuckaseegee Road bar on Saturday night.

Nelson Bismar Sosa, 41, was found with a gunshot wound in the Tropical Bar & Restaurant just before 11 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center.

Police believe the victim and suspect were acquaintances, but the investigation is ongoing and police haven’t named a suspect yet.

Seventeen of this year’s homicides have not been solved yet.

At this time in 2016, Charlotte had had 22 homicides.
