Gaston County Police is still seeking information about a woman who has been missing since 2008.
Police on Wednesday said Jamie Michelle Fraley was last seen in her Gastonia apartment on April 8, 2008. She was reported missing three days later.
She disappeared under suspicious circumstances, said Assistant Chief Joseph Ramey. A suspect in Fraley’s disappearance, Ricky Simonds Sr., died several months after Fraley disappeared.
Ramey said authorities are using the anniversary of Fraley’s disappearance to appeal to anyone who knows something about the case or who knew Simonds as a way to bring closure to the case.

“Based on the time frame, we don’t believe (Fraley) is still alive,” Ramey said. But the case remains a missing person one, and Ramey said, “You never want to give up hope.”
Fraley was 22 at the time of her disappearance, and would be 29 today. She is white; 4 feet, 8 inches tall; had blond hair and brown eyes and weighed 90 pounds.
Personal items of hers were found on South New Hope Road two days after she was reported missing.
Ramey said Fraley and Simonds were neighbors in an apartment complex, and Fraley was dating Simonds’ son, who was incarcerated when she disappeared.
But Simonds was found dead in the trunk of his ex-girlfriend’s car in June 2008.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that helps solve the case. Anyone with information about Fraley is asked to call Gaston County Police at 704-866-3320 or Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
