A man who was hit by a car last month in northeast Charlotte has died from his injuries, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Thursday.
Police were called to the 5000 block of North Tryon Street on May 29 where the man, 74-year-old Clyde Cumberland, was lying in the road after he was hit by the car.
Cumberland was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died Wednesday, police said.
The driver, 20-year-old Joshua Elliott Greene, fled the scene following the crash. Police were able to find him a short time later thanks to witness description of his car, officials said.
Greene faces charges for felony hit-and-run, causing serious injury or death, according to jail records.
