A Duplin County man riding a motorcycle was arrested on Interstate 40 late Tuesday after what a state trooper charged was a chase at 150 mph or more.
Jonathan Tanner Webster, 23, hit the speeds while trying to get away from from Trooper A.G. Knight, who was trying to stop him for speeding, Knight said in an arrest warrant charging Webster with felony fleeing with a motor vehicle to elude arrest.
Webster also was charged with speeding and with having a fictitious license plate on the 2006 Suzuki motorcycle he was riding.
Knight wrote that he caught up with Webster near the Jones Sausage Road interchange about 11:15 p.m.

Webster’s motorcycle was impounded, and he was released on $15,000 bail.
