Two mistakes apparently made it easy for deputies to bring in a suspect in a Mooresville home invasion case on Saturday.
The first break came when the suspect fell asleep inside the residence on Leslie Loop. The residents called authorities when they returned and found the man, identified by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office as Aaron John Goble, 30.
Then Goble took off through a back door, leaving his footprints in the fresh snow that blanketed the region beginning on Friday.
Investigators followed over the train tracks, through the woods and across multiple parking lots. They found Goble having a smoke on a walkway at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, less than a mile from the home where he had napped.
