Investigators have identified the man who was shot and killed after a bank robbery on Feb. 5 in Iredell County.
He has been identified as Vinson Ray Strickland, 51, of Kannapolis.
Deputies received a call at about 5 p.m. about an alarm at Capital Bank at 1439 W. Memorial Highway in Union Grove, according to a report from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect wrote a note saying he had a gun, the report said. The sheriff’s report did not say whether money was taken before the suspect ran from the bank. The N.C. Highway Patrol and canines assisted during a two-hour search.
