A 31-year-old man is in custody in connection with three armed robberies and a chase with officers over the weekend.
Eric Christopher Orr was taken into custody after he fled from a traffic stop in a stolen gold Ford Taurus on Sunday, according to a report from Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The crime spree started on Saturday, according to the report. A woman told police a man held her against her will at her residence in the 5400 block of Equipment Drive before leaving in her Taurus, CMPD’s report said.
Around 4:39 a.m. on Sunday a man entered the Quick Trip at 6721 Albemarle Road and demanded money at gunpoint. He fled on foot, according to CMPD.

Police say the same suspect approached a clerk outside a Circle K at 7225 Albemarle Road and forced the clerk back into the business at gunpoint around 6:33 a.m. The suspect fled on foot with money from the business.
Officers used dogs to track the suspect to an apartment complex. The man had fled in the stolen Taurus, police said.
The suspect refused to comply when officers tried to pull over him over, according to CMPD’s report. Orr was eventually taken into custody without incident, the report said.
Orr has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, assault on an officer, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of second-degree kidnapping, common law robbery and false imprisonment.
