A South Carolina man was sentenced in federal court in Charlotte this week to nearly four years in prison for scheming to defraud Walmart stores out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Robert Michael Milton, 51, of Blacksburg, has been in the Mecklenburg County jail on a federal detainer since his arrest in April 2013 in connection with the scheme.
Milton pleaded guilty to a wire fraud charge in the case in July 2014.
Court records show Milton obtained fraudulent refunds from numerous Walmart stores in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida over about 2 1/2 years.
