The first slaying occurred on Central Avenue in east Charlotte and the other death was on Donald Ross Road in west Charlotte. Both victims had gunshot wounds, police said.

Police presence was heavy around a convenience store nearby, WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, reported. Detectives had the JT Quick Mart parking lot taped off as part of the investigation.
