Two suspects have been arrested in the shooting of a man during a robbery on Old Pineville Road and the assault and robbery of a woman as she walked along The Plaza this week.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged Brenton Mosley, 20, and Jaelin Harris, 17, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Mosley was jailed on $100,000 bail and Harris on $75,000 bail.

Early Tuesday, police responded to an armed robbery call in the 5800 block of The Plaza. A woman told police she was walking on The Plaza when a white SUV pulled beside her. The front passenger, armed with a handgun, jumped out of the SUV, robbed the woman and then punched her in her face.

Several hours later, police in Steele Creek found a robbery victim who had been shot multiple times in the 5500 block of Old Pineville Road. Medic took the victim to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.

“These arrests are a prime example of how (important) the collaboration and communication between detectives and officers is in taking these violent suspects off of the streets to prevent further harm upon the community,” CMPD said in a statement Thursday announcing the arrests.

Anyone with information about the cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
