Seven drivers were arrested on a charge of driving while impaired at a police checkpoint in the 500 block of East Mallard Creek Church Road late Friday and early Saturday.
Police cited 15 drivers for having no operator’s license, three for driving with a suspended license and 14 for registration/inspection violations, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Sgt. J.D. Wood said.
Police filed six misdemeanor drug charges and three charges of having open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. A total of 57 charges were issued during the checkpoint from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.
Twenty-eight officers participated, including from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County ABC and the State Highway Patrol.
