A 25-year-old Mocksville woman was arrested and charged early Tuesday in the fatal stabbing of a Rowan County man.
Barry Dean Hepler, 56, was stabbed multiple times in his home on Cone Drive, off N.C. 801 in the Woodleaf community, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies found Hepler dead on the living room floor of his father’s nearby home on Cone Drive.
Satonia Yvette Gray was arrested without incident at an apartment complex in Mocksville. She was jailed without bail on a charge of murder and has a first court appearance at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Gray occasionally lived in the victim’s home, but no romantic relationship existed between them, investigators said. Hepler was stabbed after an argument or disagreement, the sheriff’s office said.
