A 38-year-old Salisbury woman was killed during a home invasion and robbery late Tuesday, police said.
Police found Lacynda Diane Feimster dead in her home in the 300 block of Crown Point Drive shortly after 11 p.m. Police had responded to a report of a home invasion and shooting at the address.
A second victim was hit in the face with a weapon and was taken by EMS to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
Feimster celebrated one of her four children’s birthdays earlier Tuesday, her brother told Observer news partner WBTV outside the home.
Police encourage anyone with information about the case to call the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
This is a developing story.
