No one recognized the man shown on surveillance video stealing security camera equipment from the pool house of an eastern Lincoln County subdivision in late May.

But when a strange man appeared at the crime scene Monday, someone recognized him as the guy in the video and called authorities.

Sheriff’s deputies took Sean Michael Bjork, 33, of Mooresville, into custody at the Gates of Waterside Crossing community, scene of the May 23 break-in and theft.

Bjork was taken to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for questioning and charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering a building, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods, and misdemeanor injury to real property. Bjork was jailed on $5,000 bail.

Investigators did not say Tuesday whether they know why Bjork returned to the pool house.
