The FBI and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the disappearance of 16-year-old Hailey Elizabeth Burns from her Charlotte home May 23.

Burns has contacted neither family nor friends since leaving her home on Baldwin Hall Drive between midnight and 6 a.m., according to the FBI’s Charlotte office.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black long-sleeved T-shirt with a Marilyn Monroe image on it, and Converse tennis shoes.

Burns has no cellphone and took few belongings with her, the FBI said. She has several medical conditions that require medication, and she took none of her medications with her.

She is white, 5-feet-4 to 5-feet-5 and 130 pounds. She has hazel eyes and might wear her brown curly hair in pigtails. She also could be carrying a blue book bag with flowers on it.
