Two parents were charged with child abuse after their juvenile son tested positive for drugs, according to Rock Hill police.
Elaine Michelle Hargett and Robert Anthony Jackson, both 23, were each charged with one count of unlawful conduct toward a child, according to a police report.
Police began investigating on May 18 after they received a referral from the Department of Social Services, which alleged a juvenile boy “had a positive drug screen” reported to the agency. Hargett and Jackson are the boy’s parents, police said.
The report doesn’t mention the boy’s age or what kind of drug he allegedly had in his system. A police spokesman referred questions about the case to DSS.
