A woman charged with first-degree murder in the May 24 fatal shooting of Lacynda Diane Feimster of Salisbury turned herself in at the Salisbury Police Department Thursday morning.
Sindy Lina Abbitt, 33, was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center without bail pending a court appearance Friday, police said. Abbitt also is charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
Police found Feimster, 38, dead in her home in the 300 block of Crown Point Drive after they responded to a report of someone shot in a home invasion. A second victim was hit in the face with a weapon, police said. That victim was treated and released at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center.
